An afternoon tea (farm)

Big ole' tea farm in Kiambu - the Kiambethu Tea Farm

Partners in life, lost in tea!

Chameleons by the handful!

Please remind me the name of this bird!  I think the plumage is only long during courtship!  Female is brown, male is dark-bluish!   And check out the flyer at the bottom of my frame!

Tree tomatoes!

Flowers everywhere!

Ditto

And some buggies!

A quick visit to Nairobi National Park

Nairobi National Park is just a few km from downtown Nairobi and offers awesome sight seeing. While this trip was a bit less exciting than my last, I still managed a few good shots.  Enjoy!

Please correct these animal names in the comments below!

Grey egret?

Hart beast?

Water buffalo!

Black rhino?

Not sure... curly horns and a big guy. Eland?

Zebra with a Nairobi cityscape backdrop.

I think this one is called "Fluffy clouds!"

Guineafowl!

More rhino, this time with grainyness of photo due to dusk.

Baby zebra!

Regular old impala? Other suggestions?

Lionesses!

Queen!

Amazing vistas!

Photos of birds and monkeys from our balcony

Just thought I'd share some of the photos taken form our balcony here in a regular apartment complex in Nairobi!

Some beautiful birds chomping away - I think they're White Casqued Hornbills?

And of course our all-too common ibis, the Hadada Ibis

And of course there's some vervet monkeys (click here for more)

And my favorite shot for last: WARP SPEED MONKEY!

Color changing eyes?

Are these eyes green? Or blue? or red?

You be the judge!

Visiting the elephant orphans at DSWT in Nairobi

Just two quick videos from a recent after-hours visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.  As a disclaimer, these elephants receive visitors 1 hour per day this way, and then 1 hour in a more public setting. Click here to learn more - DSWT is awesome!

Chatting with Ziwa at her apartment at dusk:

And just observing a warthog doing his thing!

Quick Zanzibar diving trip

Posting a few series of media from recent trips - this was Easter in Zanzibar!

Snorkeling and a sunset cruise!

Lots of time spent underwater with my dive buddy!

Can you see the massive stone fish?

Creepy-crawley! Ick!

A friend finishing up her PADI Open Water diving certification!

First time seeing a frog fish! So cool and big!

Turtle!

Fish everywhere!

And a friend tried out fly-boarding - but the machine broke after his first attempt!
